FAIRMONT — A 33-year-old Fairmont man was killed this weekend in a single-vehicle accident, according to the state Highway Patrol.
According to Trooper A.M. Humphrey’s report, Elliot Clark Callahan, of Marietta Road, was driving a 1988 Chevrolet pickup on Olivet Church Road when the vehicle went off the road to the right, he overcorrected, it exited the road to the left, struck a ditch and overturned.
Callahan, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
He was alone in the vehicle, which was destroyed. The vehicle was estimated to be traveling at 75 mph in the 55-mph zone.
The accident hapapened at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.
