LUMBERTON — A St. Pauls High School teacher and coach was arrested this week on a charge that he asked a teenager student to expose herself.

Nicholas Ferguson, 23, of Wilson Road in Red Springs, has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, which is a misdemeanor. Ferguson is listed as a history teacher and basketball coach at St. Pauls High School.

According to an arrest warrant, Ferguson on May 2 asked a 14-year-old girl “to show him her breasts and asked if she wanted to see his private parts.”

Ferguson was arrested and posted bond May 19 but the warrant and bond information were not filed in the Robeson County Courthouse until Wednesday. He was released on an unsecured $1,000 bond.

If convicted of the Class 1 misdemeanor, Ferguson could face a maximum of 120 days in jail and a fine.

As of Thursday afternoon, Ferguson was still employed by the Public Schools of Robeson County.
