LUMBERTON — Lumberton’s Alive After 5 concert series is switching it up Thursday with The Switch — an eclectic band making its first appearance at the annual event.
According to the band’s website, its five members play a mix of classic and contemporary tunes, from classic rock and beach music to hip hop and Top 40 hits.
“Come have a blast in wonderful downtown Lumberton, N.C. What better way can you think to spend an evening?” the band wrote in a post announcing the show on its Facebook page.
Formed in 2013, the band says its set list has something for everyone and “will satisfy even the most finicky of audiences.” The group counts Kid Rock, Hank Williams and the Zac Brown Band among its influences.
According to Connie Russ, the city’s downtown coordinator, fans of The Hip Pocket Band, which played Alive After 5 on May 21, will also enjoy The Switch. To learn more about the band, visit www.theswitchonline.com.
Alive After 5, a free series, will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the corner of Third and Water streets in downtown Lumberton.
After Thursday, two shows remain in the concert series — The Embers on June 18 and The Carolina Breakers on June 25.
Alive After 5 is sponsored by BB&T, Budweiser, Lumberton Honda, Lumberton Kia, Southeastern Health, Lumber River Trading Company and True Value. For information, call 910-671-3876.
