PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke is offering several opportunities for young people to keep the creative juices flowing this summer.
Summer camps ranging from STEM, sports to entrepreneurship will be offered beginning mid-June. The Office for Regional Initiatives will offer Junior Braves, UNCP Sports Camp, College Bound: SAT Summer Institute, and Entrepreneurship Camp “BIG IDEAS.”
Registration has closed for Engineering Camp Pembroke.
Junior Braves for rising first- through fourth-graders will be held from June 19 to June 23. A second session for rising fifth- through eighth-graders will be from June 26 to June 30. The cost is $165. The program offers a week of fun, creativity and problem solving designed to motivate and inspire young learners to explore and excel at challenging activities.
The UNCP All-Sports Camp for ages 7 to 12 will be held from July 10 to July 14 and again from July 17 to July 21. It provides a combination of both planned and optional activities to give kids exposure to a variety of sports and recreational activities. The cost is $165.
The College Bound: SAT Summer Institute for rising 10th- through 12th-graders offers a residential college preparatory experience from July 24 to July 28. For $550, high school students looking to prepare for the SAT will spend the morning on test preparation and the afternoon shifts experiencing dozens of other enrichment courses. Students will also experience college life by staying overnight in one of the campus dorms.
Entrepreneurship Camp “BIG IDEAS” is offered to rising 10th- through 12th-graders from July 17 to July 21. It offers the opportunity to learn how to turn your “big ideas” into reality. The camp is designed for students who want an opportunity to be immersed in an innovation process that enables them to be entrepreneurs in the future. The cost is $150.
All students who register for camp will need to complete a camp registration form. Registration forms can be found at uncp.edu/rc.
