LUMBERTON — Forty students from throughout the Public Schools of Robeson County were recognized in the Superintendents’ Choice Art Reception on Tuesday. The art exhibit is on display at PNC Bank in Lumberton.
Each year a student artist is selected from each K-12 school to represent their school in the Art Gallery. Each art teacher submits 10 pieces to be juried by a committee of central office staff. During the jury process, the committee looks at the work and selects based on originality, creativity and craftsmanship.
The original piece is framed and hung in the PNC Bank. During Youth Art Month, which is celebrated in March each year, a reception is hosted to recognize these 40 students, his or her art teachers and to give everyone a chance to see the exhibition for the first time. PNC Bank hosts the exhibit and reception each year and also gives each Supers Choice artist a gift bag of items. The exhibit will remain up for public viewing through May.
