Is there enough interest in youth soccer to get a league organized? That’s what SP High School Coach Brent Martin is trying to find out.

The St. Pauls Soccer Academy Boys and Girls Youth Soccer League is now accepting registrations for its early Winter or early Spring soccer season

The League is open to any kid between the ages of 12 and 14. You can register at St. Pauls High School on Monday, August 2 or Thursday, August 4 at the gymnasium between the hours of 6 PM and 7:30 PM.

If there is enough interest in forming a youth soccer league, games would be played by 8 member teams at the District Recreation Park field. Coach Martin is also looking for community support through team sponsorships and individual donations, to keep future registration costs down, as well as volunteers to help coach and referee.

“I’d like,” he said, “to have volunteer help for club administrators (president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, etc.), all the way down to volunteer coaches and referees (who would be paid to call games)

“Registering players must have identification that can include a state ID, a birth certificate, a report card from school, or a school transcript. No insurance forms or physicals are required,” Coach Martin said.
