Historic kick The St. Pauls soccer team got its first win in program history, beating Red Springs 2-0. The Bulldogs broke a 0-0 halftime tie with a goal from Amanda Powell. It came 10 minutes into the second half off a pass from Sabeth Hunt.

ST. PAULS — Five members of the St. Pauls wrestling team — Ed Scholl, Renald Guttierrez, Trey Harrell, Davon Smith, and Sharon Moran — attended a freestyle and greco-roman wrestling tournament recently in Mooresville.
Coach Matthew Anglin also competed, placing second in the Open Division of both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman events.

St. Pauls tennis team takes Conference title ST. PAULS — It was a year of firsts for Carol Bishop.
She has coached tennis, but never boys. Her players have had nicknames, but never ones like “Meatloaf” or “French Fry.” Her team has gone to the 1A/2A playoffs, but never undefeated — and never as Three Rivers Conference Champions.

Wrestling program seeks $3K by July 1 ST. PAULS — The St. Pauls High School wrestling team is working to raise $3,000 in order to prevent the program from taking a fall.
According to Athletic Director Jeff Fipps and school Principal Hoyt McCormick, the cost of the program, including paying for long trips to find competition, has put it at risk. Wrestling is a non-revenue sport, and is supported by the ticket sales generated by the basketball and football programs.
