“This event,” Ms. Ramsey said, “is a combined effort of the SPHS vocal department, the band department, the JROTC, members of our faculty, representatives of all military branches, Disabled American Veterans, American Veterans, firefighters, EMS, police and members of various community choirs.
“This is a spring concert, but also a tribute to all veterans of the military, police, firefighters, and EMS and to those who are currently serving, so come be recognized and given honor. If you have a loved one who is serving and can’t attend, you are welcome to come and stand in for them.
“The oldest military veteran in attendance will be presented a plaque by the SPHS Band Fans.”
Ms. Ramsey said that she hopes to get a DVD made to send overseas so that all who are far from home can see that a local high school, military, other service organizations, and community have come together in support of them.
“This is a wonderful and growing Spring event, and one much loved and anticipated throughout this community,” Mrs. Ramsey said.
Those participating in flag details or the community choir need to report at 6 PM for a quick run through.
