Turns out that not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
Two St. Pauls women, Barbara McCauley and Cheri Boice, recently attended the National Red Hat Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, and some leaked photos have emerged proving that the two had a blast!
Members of the Forever Young Red Hat Society of Fayetteville, the pair traveled to Vegas on June 28 and returned on July 2, exhausted but happy and with many great memories, not to mention photographic proof.
While at the Convention, headquartered at the Paris Hotel and Casino and attended by over 1600 Red Hat ladies, Boice and McCauley enjoyed the guest speakers, the entertainment, the sightseeing excursions along The Strip, two banquets and a pajama breakfast. But the highlight of the event was the Costume Party. Boice was attired as a frou frou Can Can dancer, while McCauley turned heads attired as a Carmen Miranda look-alike. She was among the most photogenic of the costume party attendees.
The Forever Young Society, whose Queen Bee is Faye Fleishman, meets monthly to socialize and eat at various restaurants, but also to raise money for charitable causes, especially the Salvation Army and the Women’s Shelter.
They also enjoy outings, always donned in their distinctive, bright red and purple finery and fancy, sometimes bizarre, hats. McCauley has been a member of the society for four years, while Boice is enjoying her first year in the group. This was Boice’s first visit to the National Convention in Las Vegas, while McCauley now has two under her bright purple belt.
“We have as our purpose having fun and enjoying getting together,” said McCauley, “but we also do some good for the community while we are about it. The trip to the National Convention is certainly a big deal, but it is not the only activity that we enjoy together. Just being together, eating at different restaurants, and having a ladies’ night out is always a treat for us all and something that we all look forward to.”
