Before the filing deadline, local office seekers were reluctant to enter the November 3 municipal elections. But after some consideration, several have declared themselves candidates for the various St. Pauls Town Board of Commissioners seats that will be decided this Fall.

Jerry Weindel has tossed his hat into the ring as a write-in candidate for the initially uncontested Third District seat being vacated by Doris Sutton. That seat is also being sought by Howard Burke, who is also a write-in candidate.

Howard Walters has declared himself a write-in candidate for the District Four seat currently held by Buck Terry. Mr. Terry is also being challenged by Sue Reynolds.

David Ayers is running unopposed in District One, as is Sam McAllister in District Two.
