There was some great news, and just a little bit of bad news, when the Golden LEAF Foundation recently announced its grants for projects in Robeson County.

The county’s highest priority, sewer extension to the I-95 Industrial Park just west of St. Pauls, will receive $550,000 from the Golden LEAF Foundation

The Town of St. Pauls had requested $700,000 for the project, so Town Administrator Stuart Turille said that he will begin seeking other grants to cover the remainder of the sewer extension project costs.

“The Town of St. Pauls appreciates the validation by Golden LEAF in its recognition of this project’s value and importance for all of Robeson County,” he said. “The award will contribute significantly to the economic growth of the county for the next 50 years.”
